Technology Integration In the hotel SMEs and Rural AccommodationThe Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade, through red.es, Launches Program to support incorporation of technology in SMEs hotels and rural accommodation.

The program, which will take place in the 11 Autonomous Communities and Autonomous Cities of Ceuta and Melilla benefiting from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), has a total budget of 8.3 billion Euros, provided by red.es and co-financed with European Union funds. It also has the support of the State Agency for the Management of Innovation and Tourism Technologies (SEGITTUR) has worked with red.es in defining the program and will support the dissemination of the project among the target company same.

The program will offer technology solutions focused on four key areas of the value chain of the tourism sector (reservations, room management, marketing and after-sales) and is structured around three initiatives to support businesses: the development of a Project Demonstrator, through which concrete solutions can access to improve your business and advisory services, organizing workshops and training that will allow trained professionals on the use of ICT (Information and Communication) and the development of a web portal where they can find support information.

Conducting a demonstration project.

Focus on self, micro and SMEs up to 49 employees, the hotel sector and farm houses, the beneficiaries will receive training on the use of ICT in managing their business and can choose up to two of the following solutions and advisory services:

Solution Property Management (PMS). A property management system to streamline the operation of a hotel or a rustic cottage. This option includes the installation of hardware, a PMS solution and the training necessary to train professionals who will be users.

Consulting Web Service (“Improve your site”). Companies that opt ​​for this service will access counseling consists of a graphic report, audiovisual material and an audit of your website that may cover aspects such as navigation, positioning and structuring of information in order to establish best necessary for the business of the company.

Consulting Digital Marketing Service (“Discovered”). In this case, the advisory service is focused on the design of the online marketing strategy, including issues such as managing databases of customers or reputation of the brand online, among others.

Consulting and Quality Processes. The fourth option available to the beneficiaries is the advice on tourism quality and process optimization through the use of ICT.

It is estimated that about 500 SMEs will benefit from this initiative, which will be selected through public invitation. Open to all those self-employed and SMEs up to 49 employees belonging to the Autonomous Communities that make up the program: Andalusia, Aragon, Asturias, Canarias, Castillo-La Mancha, Castillo y León, Comunidad Valencia, Extremadura, Galicia, Murcia and Navarra, and the autonomous cities of Ceuta and Melilla.

Organization of training workshops.

Be developed from a series of practical sessions aimed at about 900 recipients. May participate in all types of SMEs in the hospitality industry and rural tourism, not only the beneficiaries of the demonstration projects, and its main goal is to offer companies the keys to the use of different distribution channels over the Internet (both promotion and marketing). In addition, workshops will be taught practical sessions on the main channel search and booking via Internet (Directories and Reservation Center) will be selected through a public invitation process and collaborate in the activities of the program.

Creating a support portal.

On the other hand, the initiative includes the creation of a website aimed at providing information to the sector. Entrepreneurs can find on the website about the initiative, industry, training manuals and examples of best practices focusing on the hospitality industry and rural tourism (digital marketing, social networking, customer loyalty, search engine optimization and quality, among other topics).
